I love frozen yogurt, but I never buy it in the grocery store. Sometimes, I will go to TCBY or Yoforia, but only on special occasions. I wanted to make frozen yogurt at home because I knew it would be cheaper, and have a lot less sugar. I found this recipe, but the recipe still called for a lot of sugar. Instead of using regular white sugar, I used Truvia. The taste was a little different, but it brought out the flavor of the strawberries, without making them too sweet.
Ingredients
1/2 pound of thawed strawberries ( I had some left in the freezer)
1 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon of Truvia
Instructions
1. Place the thawed strawberries in a food processor, and blend for one minute. Then transfer the mixture to a metal bowl.
2. Add one tablespoon of Truvia to the strawberry puree, and one cup of Greek yogurt. Combine the ingredients.
3. Transfer the mixture to a container and place in the freezer for forty-minutes. Take the mixture out of the freezer and mix for one minute. Repeat this process three times.
Before serving the frozen yogurt, I would suggest placing it out and letting it thaw for about thirty to forty-five minutes.
